2025 End of Year Report – December 2025 – This program picked up a lot since the snowbirds returned, especially in the softball and pickleball area. Our Maintenance Department has taken five trailer loads of aluminum cans to the recycling center. For the year, 1,564 pounds of aluminum cans were collected.

You may have noticed our collection barrels around the community. The money collected for the aluminum is used to help fund projects around Hawthorne. Your participation will help. 
- 4 are located at the Clubhouse
- 4 at the shuffleboard courts
- 3 at the ball field
- 1 at the bocce ball court
- 1 at the pavilion
- 1 at the pool
- 1 at the marina
- tennis courts #1, #2 and the garden share 1
- tennis courts #3, #4 and pickle ball share 1
These barrels are for aluminum cans only, no glass, plastic or trash please.
